WILD TUSKERS is group working for saving wildlife in India with a new approach. We have a 10 point program planned for expansion of Wild Tuskers which will immensely help in saving Wildlife in India.
1: Create network of members : We cannot achieve our goals unless we have dedicated people around us with common goals and interest for saving wildlife. Therefore wild tuskers will be setting up a huge network of members who can support us by funding our projects, volunteering and suggesting ways in which we can achieve our goals.
2: Select Active members : At wild tuskers we understand that all members cannot be involved actively as everyone has priorities and commitments. Hence we shall have a core team of active members who can work with us on the ground to ensure that our conservation efforts do not go in vain. This core team shall be compensated for their efforts and time.
3: Helpline number : Wild tuskers will be setting up a 24 hour helpline to gather information on illegal activities affecting our forests and wild life. The identity of callers will be kept confidential due to security reasons. On basis of the information gathered we are geared to take immediate and swift action.
4: Animal Squad Team : Some of our active members will form an elite squad team whose aim shall be to gather information of poaching activities and conduct raids along with the help of the police and forest department based on the information collected by them.
5: Brain storming sessions : We at wild tuskers plan on conducting brain storming session in cities across India with the aim of creating awareness and coming up with solutions to problems affecting our conservation efforts. This session will also inspire ideas to raise funds for our conservation efforts
6: Vigilance on wildlife history Sheeter : Its no secret that the guilty poachers once caught are often released. And in our efforts to keep an check on them we will keep a vigil on the poaching history of such criminals of the wild.
7: Informers payout : The government has spent billions of rupees to protect our wildlife and forests but all in vain. Like everything in life even gathering information costs money. We at wild tuskers plan to raising funds to pay our informers thus making it that much more lucrative for the informer and a little bit more difficult for poachers to continue with their activities.
8: Funding : Wild Tuskers will try to raise it funds primarily from corporate house and its members. Other ways of fund raising are association with Banks for starting rural micro finance & rural tourism serving as an added source of income for local communities thus reducing their dependence on our forest and wild life. This Income can be utilized in wildlife protection program.
9: Use of latest technology : Since debating and demonstrating can create awareness and does not make much difference on the ground we at wild tuskers believe that the use of technology such as radio collars, recording camera etc makes monitoring our wild life and forests possible thus making it that much harder for poachers to enter forests. we at wild tuskers plan on implementing these technology’s to better protect and monitor our forests and wildlife with the permission of the authorities.
10: Online software for informers, keeping data and connecting to different offices nationwide : Wild Tuskers has a vision of working and expanding its network nationwide. For this purpose we need latest online software to connect each office and also its members. This online software will be our platform for information, our achievements, our plans and to spread our collective goal….
